What this is
CivilConstruction.ca is a field manual for the part of construction that happens in and on the ground: earthworks, underground utilities, roads, bridges, trenchless work and the rest. It is written for owners, developers, municipal staff, estimators and project managers who need a straight answer they can check.
Every regulated number, price and statistic on the site comes from a public source: provincial legislation and regulations, Statistics Canada, provincial transportation ministries, municipal bylaws and rate schedules, one-call centres and federal open data. Each page lists its sources and the date they were checked.
What we do not do
We do not rank, certify or vet contractors, and we do not claim a network of them. When you send a project brief, a person reads it and replies by email, usually with questions first.
